How to have a different year in 2025!

by Joey Jones

‘How would you describe your relationship with the Lord as we come to the end of 2024 and how is it different than this time last year’?

What is your plan to grow closer to the Lord in 2025?

I have learned that if I don’t have a specific plan to grow in my relationship with the Lord usually nothing happens. My life is the same as it was the previous year.

Joshua 1:8 says, “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”

For me, memorizing the Word of God has not only strengthened me personally, but as I’m either walking or driving a specific verse may come to mind and I’ll just meditate on it and pray it back to the Lord.

Also, when I’m in a conversation with someone the Holy Spirit will often bring a verse I’ve memorized to share with them.

Psalm 119:97 Oh, how I love Your law! It is my meditation all the day.

I have also found that the Psalms are a great way to help me learn to praise as well as pray. I may take a Psalm and personalize it and pray it back to the Lord.

  1. Love this plan! There is a lot to memorize though. I find myself remembering certain books or scriptures when a situation comes up that reminds me of it.

    1. I have found an APP that really helps me. It’s called & Search
      The Bible
      Memory App
      Scripture Memory

You add your verses and then it helps you to memorize it by typing just the first letter of each word. I always add a topic and reference to each verse to help me recall where it is and its topic.

      1. Memorizing the word of God will definitely be a major plan for me in 2025. I agree, it is really strengthening!
        Thank You
